Thriller Trailer Conventions.

A thriller is used to show people that a new movie is coming out, and it contains some short clips of the movie to show people what will be in the movie without giving away anything. If a producer was going to make a new thriller movie they would have to create a short trailer to show the audience that a new movie is coming out and will get people excited to watch the movie.

The music in a thriller trailer is important because its more exciting and you need to have the right sort of music as you wont have a clam peaceful backing track if it’s a thriller trailer. It  would be fast and thrilling music. In Sky Fall they use fast exciting music to really get the viewers in the mood for a thriller movie. Panic room is another example of using exciting music as it starts off quite and ends really loud and that’s what makes the trailer really exciting to watch.

The characters are very important in a thriller trailer as you need characters in any trailer, but you also need the right characters in a thriller trailer. If you were going to have a bad guy you wouldn’t have a little girl, you would use a big guy. In Sky Fall they have lots of different characters such as good guys who would look nice like James bond bad guys who will look scary like James bonds villain or ordinary people.  Panic room also has bad guys in the movie.

Camera work is also important in thriller trailers, as you would change different angles as it makes the trailer much more interesting as it would be boring if the trailer have all the same camera shoots. In Sky Fall they use a whole variety of camera work like close-ups, scene shots and something extreme close-ups. Panic room also uses lots of different camera shots like close ups.

Titles are so important in any trailer as it tells you important information like the name of the movie “Sky Fall” and when its out in cinemas “20^th November. People need to know the name of the thriller movie as they now which film to watch and when. In the Sky Fall trailer they have a couple of titles showing the Title of the film’ Sky Fall’ and the date its released in cinemas and they have production details at the end of the thriller. Another example for this panic room as the name of the movie and production details are at the end of the trailer.

Every movie needs a story line. In trailers they don’t give anything away but they use some exciting clips to get the viewers excited for when the movie comes out in the cinema, they sometimes leave the viewers on a cliff hanger so make them more keen to see the movie.  Sky fall is an action packed movie with spies, bad guys and guns. Panic room has a great story line as they use exciting clips in the trailer, which will really capture their viewers.
